The one Tom Cruise rode in Top Gun. Yes, that GPZ900 was my first training bike, my first motorcycle. It was so cool. I felt like I was in the theme song, "Danger Zone" lol. (By the way, the illustration is a GPZ900 drawn with my left hand.)
When I lived in Los Angeles, one night in a large parking lot, when no one was around, the road was glistening, looking like the DeLorean from Back to the Future might appear any second... that kind of parking lot. That's where I practiced riding my friend's GPZ, with him giving me a ride. I was so excited, I guess I just wanted to ride the motorcycle. I wasn't scared at all. I opened the throttle wide and took off from the very first try. My friend burst out laughing.
(As a side note, I usually act serious, but what does 'act' mean?! lol, I guess I have this side of me that suddenly does uncontrollable things... The first time I drove a mid-sized V8 boat on a lake in America, I also opened the throttle wide and almost caused an accident where the people on board were thrown off. They laughed so hard seeing that, and then the Americans got really angry... I'm sorry, yes. I'm not reflecting on it though lol)
Parking lots are big in America, you know. I rode the GPZ around for laps and laps, it was so much fun. Kawasaki liquid-cooled inline-4 900CC, it was fun. It had a strange power that also gave me a sense of security. (I'd like to ride a Kawasaki motorcycle again)
After that, I found a Yamaha FZR600 at a salvage yard (junk yard). (Illustration, FZR600 drawn with my left hand) Oh, right, there are quite a few 600cc sport bikes in America, which are not common in Japan.
Thinking about it now, man, the handlebars were way too low... I wonder if the GPZ would've been better. Though I did like the dual round headlights. Way too fast for a beginner, though. Plus, I got cocky and went to the hills behind Los Angeles, and crashed hard right away (right on the edge of a cliff... that was close)
I had it fixed and rode it (I took the broken FZR600 back to the salvage yard and had it fixed. They said, "Did you turn salvage (junk) into salvage (junk)?" and I laughed), but I became a little scared of the bike, and after that, I kind of gave up on motorcycles. You really should learn properly, motorcycles. They're dangerous. (I properly went to a driving school and learned properly last year. Doing it over.)
I listened to the TOP GUN soundtrack and remembered a little, so I drew it and wrote about it. That's all.
