Artists and College Sports ② (A story about what Leadership is)

In team sports, a lot becomes possible by overhauling language and communication. How? I focus on introducing unique concepts and conceptual approach methodologies that are unique to artists.

Rikkyo University's American Football Club Rushers also discusses fostering "leaders in society" as part of our mission. So, what is a leader? As for me, I think the definition is up to each individual, and in a Zen-like manner, I believe "defining the undefined" is good. Thinking about what a leader is already puts you on the path of being a leader.

So, what's my opinion? That's what it's about...

First off, I've been researching and learning about this topic for work, and it's interesting. There was a time when leaders were said to have "innate talent and skills," but now, there are methodologies that study leadership elements, allowing anyone to become a leader (retroactively). This "anyone" part is good... but... look at this↓, who would understand this?

Leader Traits 2
↑Too difficult and the leaders will decrease! LOL LOL

I'm thinking simply. English, as the word says. Leader = one who creates "lead". Leader = One who can take one step "lead"

Only one step, baby! Super simple, right?

Simply put, I think it's someone who takes a step forward before others and challenges themselves with "in a good way" unnecessary things. If there's someone struggling at the station, you're the first to help them, before anyone else. If you can do that, you're not just a good person; you're a wonderful leader in society.

This applies not only to team activities but also to individuals. If you take a step forward from your behavior yesterday and try/challenge yourself, you can guide yourself to a new you (guide = Lead). If you can become your own leader, there's nothing to fear!

Guiding yourself might be what this is all about!

That's right, just one step is all it takes.

One time, I discovered "Leadership" within myself, so I'll share that experience. When I was 18 (about 30 years ago... lol), on my way home from club activities, there was a commotion in a nearby apartment. One room was locked, and natural gas had filled it. It seemed a woman was attempting suicide. I immediately told the landlord, "Please bring me a wrench, duct tape, and a broom." I taped the duct tape to the window lock and smashed the glass with the wrench (so it wouldn't fly towards the person inside). I immediately pulled the person to a higher position (natural gas is heavy), and after getting them out, to avoid ignition, I used the broom to push out the gas that had pooled at the bottom.

I wonder what was going through my head at the time... I was quite calm. It was probably all from things I'd seen on TV or in movies. But I gathered all the information and knowledge, acted constructively on the spur of the moment, and pulled it off... Can I really do something like that? I saved a person's life! I thought, and later grinned to myself. (In any case, the woman was saved, which was good.) I even received an award from the fire department.

That's right, that's right, just one step is all it takes.
