I once asked in Italy, "Why do Italians tell you to eat a lot?"
Why did I ask? The reason is, seriously, no matter whose house I went to, whether it was a relative's or a friend's, everyone would say, "Mangia mangia (Eat, eat)!" and the amount of food served was huge, a lot. I was always stuffed.
It's not that the portions are rich, but rather the richness of people's kindness through food.
The elderly person replied, "Well, maybe it's because there were times in Italy when people really couldn't eat." Perhaps it was a time when mothers with thin children were struggling, sharing their own portions.
I feel their personality. Live in the moment.
Every country has its pros and cons. In Italy, mail doesn't arrive on time, and people's connections move forward based on impulse rather than plans. But the explosive power that arises at those moments is wonderful and fun.
As for my art activities, thinking about the future only makes me anxious. Lol. That's why I've naturally (over time) come to fit with people, cultures, and ways of thinking that say, "Go for it!"
I came to the conclusion that you can never truly experience the future. Because tomorrow becomes today. Tomorrow and the future are just concepts that cannot actually be grasped.
That's right, so! Gratitude for the present moment! Mangia Mangia!
