There are good tears and bad tears.
When my daughter cries because she's trying her best to communicate with her limited vocabulary, or when she cries because she's in pain, I tell her, "Absolutely do not cry!"
And I say, "Crying is the same as giving up on communication." "Even if you cry from pain, the pain won't go away." "Explain everything properly. I want to hear every word you say."
It's not about the cheap idea that not crying equals strength. It's because if you cry, nothing will be conveyed, and others will misunderstand you.
I've been telling her this since she was very young.
She has learned to explain things by making an effort to use words without crying.
To her effort and attitude
I sometimes shed tears alone
