Well then!

I am naturally someone who easily chats with all sorts of people, anywhere in the world. I don't judge people much by their appearance. I rarely think someone is the worst after talking to them, that's just how it is. Speaking of judgment, it's contradictory to judge others based on superficiality when I don't want to be judged by others superficially.

However, there is one saying that comes to mind.

I decided to go to America! This is a story from when I was 26 years old and working a night shift part-time at a logistics company. Back in 1998, the night shift was likely filled with people who couldn't work the day shift. I heard that their backgrounds included foreigners and former yakuza members.

One night shift, I was complaining about a coworker. "That person is a good person, but XXXX... muttering." Then, my senior (a former yakuza) said, "Aoyama-kun, you know, you should stop that! If someone is bad, you should say they're bad. Even among yakuza, there are many good people. So, that 'good person, but?' preface is unnecessary."

This is a well-reasoned theory of the inherent goodness of humanity that resonates with me.

Suddenly, I was hit with a flying cross chop. My unknown "good person mask" was peeled off, and I felt a refreshing breeze on my face. So, I think. It's not about just judging or not judging others, accepting or not accepting them?? Accepting the unknown and other "existences" is natural for me. More importantly, it's crucial to be honest with your own unique feelings. Humans have a lot of love, that's a given. Just like that theory of inherent goodness. That's what I think, me.
