I went to a museum in Uethe other day. There were many paintings by Picasso, Matisse, Klee, Braque, etc. Amazing.

I'm excited to see real works from over 100 years ago.

Looking at the brushstrokes. Thinking while looking at Picasso's painting of a naked woman (perhaps his girlfriend Dora?). I wonder around what point he captured the form, and how quickly he put it into execution. I ponder.

Some lines are traced with double folds, and the paint on some lines drips from a brush loaded with pigment. Speed. Speed becomes passion, and there's time to go back and fix each drip. There, I feel the passion for embodying the captured image of the form. It's the best.

It's hard to say. When you look at the years the works these artists created, they shift to completely different styles within a year, or even go back. If one style sells well, they ignore commercial requests from the public to create more of it, or to create it.

I think so too. I decided my life would be about being a creator, so matter how my style evolves, I'm not painting for the public, so it doesn't matter. I'm just searching for 'my own inner satisfaction.'

I recently turned 50. I finally feel like I want to accomplish small things at hand. It doesn't matter if it's a small painting. I want to enjoy the things at hand without anyone knowing. I don't want to aim for anything big or eye-catching, nor do I want to go to such places. That's what I keep thinking as the days go by.

So, it might be a big intrusion, but if you want things around you to go well, I recommend keeping your actions and thoughts private. Just because you're an artist, you don't have to announce what you're doing to everyone all the time. As I get older, I've come to dislike it, and I feel like it's a waste of time.

To the old guys from 100 years ago, thank you for your wonderful works. You'll never know, but you're still incredibly cool in 2023.
