# Artistと大学スポーツ① **Source:** https://taksanart.com/en/artistと大学スポーツ① **Language:** English --- I belong to the Rikkyo University American Football team, Rushers, as an Artist. To be precise, I belong as a Creative Director, a specialist in Communication (Verbal and Visual). ![Rushersroots 1](https://taksanart.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/rushersroots-1.png?w=1024 "Artistと大学スポーツ①") https://www.rushersfootball.jp/ The attempt by an Artist to be involved in college sports, both in Japan and overseas, is likely an unprecedented new initiative. (The artist participates not only in art creation but also in team building and communication.) This is all thanks to the open-mindedness of the director, Head Coach, coaches, and everyone involved with the team, for which I am sincerely grateful. (No matter how much an artist participates, if the stakeholders don't listen to their opinions, there's nothing that can be done, so I'm grateful lol) Actually, I myself am an OB of the same club, but my past is not very relevant, and I don't have much knowledge of modern sports, so I don't emphasize that, as it won't be of much help. I was just messing around when I was active. lol Rikkyo University American Football Club Rushers is also a traditional school that was the first in Japan to play American football, but what is its school spirit? I think it's not arrogant and has the tolerance to accept various people. (I can belong to it, lol!) The club's culture and the artist's participation are a good match. ![Img 2397 1 1](https://taksanart.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/img_2397-1-1.jpg?w=750 "Artistと大学スポーツ①") Figghia mia <> There are a hell of a lot of things an artist can do (depending on how you look at it). In my case, methodology and storytelling are always important for my own creative work, and the sources of inspiration are diverse. I have been engaged in creative activities with interest in concepts from various fields such as culture, philosophy, and business. In this regard, I believe I can help evolve the "way of thinking" that will be effective for the players and staff in team building. I also do PowerPoint presentations, lectures, and actual design work. Verbal and Visual communication is the ongoing basis. And, you know, I arrogantly lol, share various constructed concepts or methodologies for constructing concepts, arrogantly lol. ![Img 0571](https://taksanart.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/img_0571.jpg?w=768 "Artistと大学スポーツ①") "Let's engrave team spirit into our bones (calcium)" Well, in short, if the entire team and staff think, "What the hell is this guy talking about?? What the fuck is this guy talkin’ bout??", then I consider it a passing grade. That's right. I'm here to be a "walking curveball." And I'm aiming to improve and evolve the team's ability to catch curveballs. As an example, simply put, practice and games differ in location, atmosphere, and opponents. Can you adapt immediately to this change, or do you "stay in your comfort zone and stop your own growth"? There is a railroad switch in this thinking. (There are many other elements, of course.) That's right, plus, we are not a team that just aims to "win" (well, I'll talk about that another time) Curveball. That's why I always suddenly call out to the players in slang English, like, "Let’s go! Get some! Baby"... I provoke them during practice, lol. I tell jokes and talk about things that are almost on the verge of being inappropriate, **Wild pitch of a curveball** I'm aiming for. Some players even give me a wry smile and say, "Mr. Aoyama, how should I respond to you!!" Lately, I myself have been strength training, trying to get bigger, and a staff member who is an artist nearing 50 is giving "stimulus" to the university students while having fun. Injecting "non-ordinary elements." Then, they usually ask, "Why are you strength training at that age and trying to get bigger?!" Bwahahaha, life is interesting with a mind and body that aren't normal!! "FUCK NORMAL HUMAN" Bwahahaha. ![Tiget](https://taksanart.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/tiget.jpeg?w=640 "Artistと大学スポーツ①") Donated a painting to the team's "Tiger Gym" While listening to their stories, I explore what they want to do, sway it left and right, turn it upside down, inside out, boil and grill it, and turn it into something different from the original... I try to share a methodology of "seriously breaking down fixed ideas." But, I've come to like all the players and staff of this team. It's love for the people I like. Supporting the people I like, that's all. I'm learning a lot from everyone on the team. Well, I'll talk about the details another time! ### Share this: - Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook - Share on X (Opens in new window) X - Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp ### Like this: Like Loading… ### Leave a Comment Cancel Reply
